I was wondering if there was a wire i could tap into to get a tach pulse signal. Im wanting to use my tech tool for fine rpm adjustment and tuning after i remove my factory tach.

Actually you just need to tap into the negative side of the coil. Power side always has power. Negative side has pulses.

I'm curious as to the tech tool you plan on using to fine tune. Can you give more details?

Heh, Wireman, I figured you just had a brain fart. ;)

Pumps, you can get a good test tach pretty cheaply nowadays. It will usually have a setting for dwell, RPM, and voltage. It just looks like a big analog meter.

The only issue is that it is designed for cars with distributors, so you have to multiply the reading on the gauge by 2 or 4 depending on the circumstance, to get the right reading.

The test tach is far, far more precise than the gauge cluster tach. It needs to be very accurate and stable for setting mixture etc.
