1982 KZ1000LTD

There is one for sale locally.  It supposedly has only 12,000.  To be honest I'm only interested in it for the engine.  I have researched and believe I know the correct answer.  This engine can replace the engine in my 2000 KZP.  I know the wiring is a bit different.  I think I'd have to swap out the stator.  Other than that, would this be a straight forward swap?  I'd probably part out the rest of the other bike.

As straight forward as straight forward can get. I cant seem to tell any difference at all between the ltd and police j engines. The stator should be the same across all models of the j engine. I actually have a kzp stator in my csr so don't worry about that.
