Should I oil the bores or not
17 Oct 2026 15:00
Asking opinions for "Should I oil the bores, pistons and rings before fitting the pistons". I have had the bores honed and cross-hatched ready for assembly. I have been advised to keep them dry so that the rings seat better. What are your thoughts on this?

You should lightly oil the bores with the same oil you are using in the sump.
This will prevent cylinder and ring damage caused by dry scuffing on start up.
Light oiling will not affect bedding in of the rings.
