Are The GPz550 Head Gaskets All Gone? 11004-1212

Online Kawasaki sources suggest the head gasket for the 1981 and on GPz550s are OOS and they will not be re-stocked. Where were we sourcing them the last time the bins went empty?

Wow that's surprising. Those 550 went through head gaskets . All three of mine would start to leak oil after a bit. My girls blew and started leaking when it was still under warrantee.

I rebuilt my 750 and was lucky to find a NOS gasket. I also bought a Cometic gasket kit including a head gasket I did not use.
I tried the left side transmission gasket, and that emptied a liter of new oil on the floor right away. So I cut one out of gasket material to fit, that is working now. I also cut out an oil pan gasket.
Only a mater of a short time before people start to cut out their own head gaskets from copper sheet.
