Hyvo cam chain with the slipper plate fitted in the cam cover. When the cover is fitted and the chain is under tension it all comes good.

If the pin count on the chain is correct and the tensioner is backed off you are good to go

The pin count is my concern if you look I added the picture of the book illustration and the pin count doesn't start where it shows in the book it's like a half a link off on the exhaust side where I would start to count

It only looks half a link off because the chain isnt seated on the sprocket completely until the cam cover is fitted.
if your starting your count on the pin above the mark and the count is correct, all good.

Thats becuase when it was first assembled the chain was placed around the crankshaft one pin further around (tdc mark). Where the link plates sit is totally irrelevant, the pins are the bit that count.
if the whole chain was moved one pin forward on the crank, exhuast and inlet your pic would match the diagram.
or if the chain was moved one lpin on the crank, inlet and exhuast the diagram would match your picture.
pins matter, link plates are not relevant.

The pin count starts with the first pin above the arrow.

I have never understood why the pin at front is not included in the count , would be so much simpler 45 pins arrow to arrow

Warren & Wookie are correct, tis the pin count thats important, plus as wookie says the cam chain tensioner needs to be backed off before you try to bolt the cam box down, you need some sag in the chain between the cams or you will pull some bolt threads.
