Engine Cleaning

Until recently, my 82 KZ1100 engine was a pile of grungy parts in a plastic tub that sat in the basement for over a year.
The transmission was next after cleaning the case halves, but I needed snap-ring pliers for that.  Ebay to the rescue!

Used Bar Keepers Friend to remove the dried up old grunge off engine surfaces.
It took concentrated scrubbing and rinsing, followed by WD40 and oil application...
Results are well worth the effort!

Just need a new nut

I've never heard of Comet being used, that must of taken like forever, ha. I have an assortment of rubber tapered plug sizes that i use to cap off the gears with the bronze bushings pressed in. Cap them off and merely bead blast the gears. Takes about 20seconds per gear and they come out completely clean. Nut? Thought You would already have a supply of those because of going "NuTs" leftover from having to figure out the piston episode? Nevermind, that's brain nuts, Hehe.
