Slow warm up ?

My KZ 900 start with a little bit of choke, and fire right away. It's take a while before it warm up. Then, a minute or two with some choke it's good to go !

I used to get no warm up period on all my others bikes, cars or trucks more than few sec. !

I know my bike is 50 YO but I dont take this for excuse ...LOL

Sounds normal, other than the part where you say it warmed faster before.

How much is the bike getting ridden these days?  If not much, that could explain the reason.  Maybe some fuel system cleaner in the next couple tanks of gas?

I also have a KZ900. You've pretty much described it's start up routine. My KZ1100 demands even more time to be ready. If I cut it short, I'm risking it stumbling when I pull away from a stop.

All of our stock Z1's  require varying amounts of richer mix added by the enricher circuit (Z1's, often referred to as 'choke') and both of our stock CB750 Nighthawks (true chokes)  to pull from a dead stop smoothly when cold for the first few miles.  As the motor warms and, just as importantly, as the carbs/intake tracts themselves get hot, the choke/enricher can be can be moved to OFF.  Hot carbs & intakes vaporize fuel better than when cold.

If it runs well hot & plugs look good, suggest it be left as-is.  At best, one can drive oneself nuts chasing N-th degree perfect carburation on relatively-crude 50 yr. old carbs.

You are right ! Sometime my bike sleep in the garage for 2 - 3 weeks... like when I wrote this post. Today was a shorter warm up as I rode it the day before.

Modern motorcycles cars etc are almost all fuel injected controlled by an ECU working on feedback from sensors.  No carbs and no manual choke or enricher. I'm old enough to have had a car with a carb and choke and startup was same as the bike.

Your couple of minutes to warm up is pretty good. Normal. Part of the fun of an old machine
