ZX550 oil filter parts orientation
18 Aug 2025 17:32
Tried a search, and it wasn’t helpful. Changed the oil in my 85 GPZ550, and I typically put everything back as it came out. The order from bottom to top is the cover, then a metal cup, flat washer, filter slides down into the cup then a spring.
I was told by someone it should be the cover, filter, flat washer, spring, then the cup upside-down over the filter.
What is the correct way to place these parts?
thanks!

Oh shoot. Looks like the spring and washer on the completely wrong side. Well, I have two rides on that oil so I better change it anyway. 😆
thank you so much for the diagram!!!!
