Wookie, are you suggesting pulling all 4 plugs and then test each cylinder that way? My initial test consisted of removing the plug of the cylinder I was testing, reinstalling plug, then removing plug on next cyl and testing, etc.

Did you mean you drilled the main jets bigger or you put bigger new jets in?

Given that you have already tested across the board at this stage just the bad cylinder would be ok. For future reference if you remove all the plugs when comp testing it will give the battery an easier time and give a more accurate reading as the motor will spin faster.

With you but the issue appears to only relate to 1 cylinder ??

I did drill them out. I got an eBay rebuild kit for the gaskets. Could've mentioned that I still have the OEM 92 mains. That are untouched

On second thought. Not sure why I didn't think of this earlier but I got the bright idea to spray some starter fluid in cyl one with the bike running. Looks like a fuel issue to me... I know the pilot jet for cyl 1  is clear, can see light through it. Maybe  something in the porting is causing a blockage. Will be giving carb one a good cleaning. Plug does oily tho. Valve seal? Piston ring? Maybe it is getting fuel and there's too much oil leaking down into cyl one and it's not firing at idle. the bike hasn't been run enough to know how much oil it's really burning up. Smoking seemed less today. It's also warmer out here than it has been.  Getting cyl one to go on starter fluid did make the header hot like the others. And there is an increase in rpm that can be heard when it fires. But still wont get as hot as the others with only gas. Oil in the cylinder causing it to run cooler?
