This old 84 ZN1100 motor sat on a wood pallet for thirty plus years in a Wisconsin parts warehouse after suffering a blown head gasket at 28K miles.
The motor wasn't painted or blasted. It just needed a good scrubdown with an old paintbrush and non-ethanol gasoline.
There was no corrosion, and very little road grime to deal with.
