22 Mar 2025 18:01Check cam chain tension, cam timing, valve adjustment, a tea spon of oil into the cyl., battery full charged and WOT during compression test!
And don't even waste time doing a compression check until you check valve clearance.
If the valves are tight, and you adjust them, the compression may still be low, because of carbon build up on the valve and seat faces. Adjust for max allowable clearance, then ride the bike, good and hard, for 100 miles or so. Then, check the valve clearances again, likely to have tightened up some, but if okay, then do the compression check.

good battery, fully charged AND load tested. WOT. make sure the air filter isn't clogged. and that there isn't a rag stuffed in the airbox opening.
