kz 900 after market pipes.... improvement ?

The after market 4 into 4 pipes sound different than the OEM. (or in my memory !)
Back in my younger days, I use to remove the baffles on my triple 250 then cut in 1/2 or drill holes at the end cover on others bike.

I'm missing the original sound on my KZ900 and I would like to get  it a bit louder.  What should I do ?

The Doremi aftermarket pipes look and sound identical in my view.  But if you want a bit louder more throaty sound you might want to check out Kerker or whatever they're called nowadays.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I found the pipe brand on my KZ900.  They are MRS made in Japan as per the original assembly method. Welding is made manualy with MIG for internal assembly and external seam welds by  TIG.

Description: M-Tec Chukyo. Product #MRS-955-K050E (late model 1,333.81 USD)

Interesting video showing the fabrication process. For those who dont skeak Japanese...LOL, start the video at 1:08 M.

I've always loved the sound of my no-baffle Vance & Hines 4 into 1. But most of my neighbors haven't..

If you look at the tab where the rear bolt mounts the pipes to the frame....that's where Doremi stamps their name.

Holy smokes.  How can there be enough demand for replacement 4-4 exhaust systems for a bike that is 50 years old to make it worthwhile to set up that kind of industrial manufacturing process.  That's the kind of setup you see for current production models where they expect to sell 10,000 or more a year.  I can't understand how they sell enough of those to make it worth the setup cost.

They do all kinds of and other stuff. As for the Z1, it is not exactly like OEM shape but very close and very pretty !

Comments from web site: It is not finished with the reproduction of the form, but all the details such as the same manufacturing method and welding as at that time are close to the original.
The connection between the exhaust pipe and the silencer is treated with the same silver powder as the genuine one.
The high-quality finish of each part manufactured by skilled craftsmen in Japan is unparalleled as a repro muffler.

This is the MRS installation video:
