Ape racing slotted camshaft gears valve adjustment

I Have a 1977 kz 1000 1197cc turbo engine  with 83 gpz1100 camshafts. They have the ape racing slotted  gears on camshafts. My question is how to adjust valve clearance. There are no marks on the gears to line up with cylinder head. Any help appreciated.

The APE sprockets should have the ex and 28 pin marks on them.
All mine do.
If not then set the engine at TDC with both valves shut and mark the sprockets yourself..

..and use only high grade (M6 10.9 or 12.9) Allen head bolts on the cam chain sprockets, hex bolts do collide with the cam chain!!!

Thanks for picture of setup. How do you do the valve clearance  adjustment. Is it done at tdc or ?.

Check the valve clearances with the cam lobe pointing directly away ( 180 degrees ) from the valve shim.
This ensures the cam is fully on the base circle.
