TexasKZ AGAIN THANKS FOR THE CARBURETOR ISSUE!
So here’s what’s going on not all the time but when I shift from 4th gear to 5th gear it shifts in between the gears? Like it’s in neutral but very hard to get into gear actually grinding gears ⚙️. Trying to put back in goes back into gear easier when I can slow down shifts easier without grinding. Clutch plates?
What all should I change? Also a one time deal this happened came up on a stop sign shifted down quick and the bike stalled? All the lights came on showed it was in neutral I was able to push the bike off to the side so I know it was in neutral would not start? Waited and turned on and off a couple of times and started back up Neutral safety switch?

Hi.
False nuetrals can happen for a number of reasons, although they usually happen in the lower gears because they get used and wear more. A worn shift drum, worn or damaged shift forks, worn dogs on the gears, a dragging clutch, or shift linkage issues can all play a part.

I think it’s a dragging clutch going to change clutch plates, heavier spring first. Thanks for the suggestion

Worn clutch plates and springs would not cause false neutrals or gear grinding.
