New Clutch Pack Installation was created by stepkitto
Installed a new clutch pack in my 1981 KZ 440 A2. I followed the same order installing the friction plates and friction discs. I lined up the tabs on the clutch pack cover with the holes on the hub. My problem is trying to tighten up the four bolts on the clutch pack cover. It spins as I try to tighten it up and I tried putting the bike in gear but no help. The bike just moves and I cant get the bolts tight. I am sure there is a simple fix but I am not thinking of it. Any help would be appreciated !

Not sure I totally understand the issue you are having. But if you do not want the bike to move as you try to tighten the bolts I might suggest pushing the bike forward until the front tire is against a wall or other object so it can not move and then tighten the bolts.

You could ask someone to sit on it and apply the rear brake

I figured it out. It was the clutch adjustment that was wrong. I backed the adjustment screw off until it was loose and this allowed me to tighten the bolts without the clutch moving. I am learning. lol ! Thanks for the advice !!
