Some background info; So i recently did some work for a customer and ended up getting the guts of a kz550 to put in a custom cafe racer frame. The current hurdle i am dealing with is trying to make the custom gas tank i have work with the stock 550 fuel setup. The tap i have only has one output and when doing some research saw that the stock 550 fuel tap has two outputs, one for fuel delivery and one for vaccum. I would like to keep the custom tank that i have but retain the stock funtionality. any advise is appreciated.

Why not adapt your tank to use a vacuum petcock?

I've forgotten where the stock tap gets its vacuum to function.  On larger carbs it's usually from the downstream side of a carb venturi.  But I just don't recall where it is on the TK22 carbs.  If you know where it is ....why not just flock off the vacuum nipple?

I think the proper question is why use the vacuum petcock at all? Just use the manual petcock. The vacuum part of that petcock is not an outlet. It just allows it to flow fuel but using the vacuum to open a valve . Manual petcocks do not have that valve. You just have to remember to open it to ride and shut it off when the ride is over.   You do have to seal the unused vacuum port of the carb or intake manifold.
I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress
