I have found a camchain with masterlink locally for sale After looking at the picture it is marked as a roller chain .When going online i found the same chain 219  122pin  but that is marked as a bush chain. Both are D.I.D .I then googled bush vs roller camchains and found alot of info. I tried to find the roller type online, but it is not listed anywhere. Does that mean it is old ?
After what i have read so far it seems that the bush type is stronger and more silent but wear faster on the gears and chain  than the rolletype ?  does anyone know if the roller type is the best chain?

In this application roller and bush are different terminologies for the same thing.

okay But i read that bush type has pressfitted rollers on the pins that is not spinning and roller type has rollers on the pins that spins. So it does not matter what type i use?   if it is the same chain i guess they just changed the name to roller on newer fabrications?  here is a link to what i read about camchains. : www.researchgate.net/figure/Timing-chain...chain_fig1_363271563

I have a few new camchains here, both stock DID and HD Tsubaki race chains and they do all appear to be solid bush which i have never actually took any notice of .
For this smaller size of chain i'd steer clear of the roller and use the bush type as the smaller components required to make up the roller version are likely less robust for the demands which is probably why that size appears to be no longer available.

I think you are right about the need of using smaller components required to make a roller type making it more fraglie. good point!. I will not buy the roller chain it was not much money to save on buying it anyway. Thanks for advice !

Rolf1976_KZ900 thank you for this post. Zed1015 as always thank you for sharing your knowledge.

In this subject. Just a short while ago I was able to find HD Tsubaki not common but available. Recently I have searched again and not able to find them. Zed1015 do you have a source?

Tsubaki stopped making these HD chains a few years ago so i bought a few 122 and 124 link ones before stock dried up.
I also keep an eye on ebay for them as sometimes they crop up as new old stock and if the seller only mentions the pin count and not  Kawasaki they can be had cheap if you're lucky.
APE now supply HD chains from DID which are supposed to be as good and according to BB Racings website i have just now discovered they claim to have the Tsubaki ones in stock for $132 each..
