Question on this. 1983 or 84 kz1000, “homemade” on the title. Bike runs and drives, at least until now, so point of reference is that it did operate correctly.  Lost the 1/8 balls out of the clutch cage, got new cage, new balls. Also got a ball and pocket upgrade kit. Regardless of which I use, not getting activation at the pusher /plates.  Ball is present, no obstruction through pushrod tunnel. Cable activates correctly, full 1/2” of travel at the swaged end that connects to the actuator arm. New cable spring.  All worked prior, was just very stiff.  Now I get zero movement at the pusher. Been over everything 100 times. Makes no sense. Even tried a drill bit stub to split the difference between the shorter ball and pocket pushrod length compared to stock.

If the engine is from 1983 or 1984, it should have had the E Z pull (ramp and ball) clutch release to start with.

You should double check but the frame number and the engine number to be sure of what you have.

As I mentioned on the other thread, the correct orientation of the release arm is crucial to the proper function of the EZ pull mechanism. It would be good to double check the instructions and the mechanism to insure it is correct.
