Hi
I have looked at the information on this site and according to that KZT10R-000980 is an R1 1984 engine but the bike has DFI fitted to it and as far as I'm aware the R1 was all carbs?
Any thoughts.

I am fairly sure that the GPz and the 1100R engines should start with KZT10B…….

Maybe some obscure cross over model between the R1 and A1 for a specific market or a prototype test bed for the A1 ??? is it possible to approach the factory with Vin and engine number ?

Could be a GPz engine in an R frame.

Are you sure the engine number is not 036145? That would be a 1984 number.

Show a pic of the injection.
It's probably had a GPZ system fitted.
They are a straight bolt on carb substitute if using B1 or  Unitrack throttle bodies with the appropriate wiring and ecu etc.
The B2 set up had the injectors in the head so would need the entire B2 head too for that.
