Hello,
i don't find the information on the manual so i ask here :
I have 4 round rubber plugs for the cylinder.
Where do they go ? I have 4 holes in the center (around the chain) or 4 holes on the front of the cylinder...
And what are they for !
Thank you
Fox

They go at the base of the cylinder, 8 of them , 4 in front and 4 in back if I remember right. The ones you have are probably hard as a rock and won't do to much I think mainly to keep dirt and stuff out of those holes and maybe for vibration at the Finn's. You can buy them here. I go down to Ace hardware and grab some tapered rubber plugs and cut them to fit snug

My Kawasaki KZ1000 A1 only has 4 rubber plugs on the front of the cylinders, apparently just to prevent dirt from accumulating in that area of the crankcase.

Not the expert here but I have heard the are a factory item installed to suppress vibration durning the original manufacturers boring process. Beyond that they are not necessary.

When i restored my Z, one year ago, i renewed them just because my engine was open and i had the rubbers laying around. And yes, the old ones where hard as rock. I think they where just to prevent dirt.
