Has anyone altered the stock exhaust on a KZ1000P? Can they be altered? Such as tips be drilled to remove the any baffle material. Just thinking about creating a better sound.

The baffling is probably welded steel tubes & plates.
Here's a couple of pics of a KZ750H Ltd. there's other stuff inside the muffler.
The 1000P is probably similar. just guessing.
Some of the 70s manuals have a cutaway view diagram of the muffler baffling.

In case it needs to be said the muffler has broken off at the weld. One of my mufflers broke off similarly.

I also have a stock exhaust on my KZP. It's heavy and quiet. I don't see how you would remove the baffle without destroying it. You'd probably be better off replacing it with a 4 into 1 and selling the stock exhaust. As for me, the older I get the more I appreciate quiet bikes and cars.
