Viton valve stem seals was created by 750 R1
Just bought some Viton valve stem oil seals for my engine rebuild, the question is, Kibblewhite have blue viton and red viton valve stem seals, is there any difference in material, heat range or anything else or are they just pretty colours for the fashion conscious engine builder ?
I bought the red seals..{they're faster}...

Unless claimed otherwise they should all be the same grade and are just different colours from different manufacturers.

Thanks Rob. I did a bit of googling and only found one place that said anything about the colours, and that was confusing, The red were said to be for, among other things,  "racers choice", and the blue ones they had were "specially" made for "extreme" heat, probably advertising blurb more than anything.
Hows that leg of yours ? Done any more  to your projects ?

noticed 4 blue on my intakes and 4 blacks on exhaust side. Were these black ones rated better quality for exhaust temps or something? i really dunno

Blue may be Viton and the black may possibly be stock non Viton or APE seals but you would never know unless you know the make of them as rubber can be dyed almost any colour.
Viton is becoming more popular now as it is more temperature and chemical resistant so will last longer and perform better in harsher conditions.

Black valve guide seals could be Real O.E.M. Kawasaki seals.

I have been using nothing but Real O.E.M. Kawasaki valve guide seals for over 40 years and never had any type of problems with them what so ever!!!
