Starter clutch engagement

KZ1000p built from boxes

Bikes only been started 3-4 times since complete rebuild and then I had a problem with starter clutch which sounded like it was still engaged after starting, I turned off and on starting again it didn't engage.

Stripped it down, bolts all very tight apart from maybe the main one holding everything to the shaft, not sure on that one.  The starter clutch gear had 1mm of movement in it and the damage below.  The one way assembly had the damage in the pics as well, looks like they were hitting which was what cause my damage.  Would this cause it to not engage as well?

Clearly need a new one way assembly, but am I likely to have another issue like the rubber dampers not being big enough?
