Well you are talking about 8 6mm screws, or bolts combined holding the plate against the engine. I don't know what the shear factor is for a 6mm screw or bolt, but I would bet money on 8 of them being strong enough to lift and engine out of the frame. If one were really concerned you could strip off all extemporaneous engine pieces to lighten the load as much as possible. One could also pre-load the plate on the engine to avoid any sudden movement of the plate on the screws. Anyway that is my plan if I ever need to pull the motor. And the person that made the plate for me still frequents the forum under "Hardgun". Great guy to deal with as I recall.

Thank you for the pics and dimensions of that plate. I like that idea. Im not worried about the strength of the bolts or the plate im worried about the casting breaking but proof is in the pics. Definitly going to explore this option

I think the shear of the 8 M6 bolts is more than the weight of the engine. I like Ricks method. Putting a little weight on the plate while tighten the bolts. I don’t see and issue. Your not going to be jerking the engine around.

The bolts are not my real concern, what they are screwed into is.

We can all agree Scirocco is a very talented, intelligent guy. If it’s good enough for him it’s good enough for me. Im going to use it.
