Clutch pushrod ball bearing installation. was created by loneagle
I own a 78 KZ1000. Does the ball bearing install from the left side along with the pushrod or from the clutch side behind the pusher? Is the diameter of the ball .375?
Thank you

I haven't looked up the 1000A specifically, but every KZ clutch pushrod ball I've seen in the diagrams is listed as 3/8 (= 0.375).

Pardon me if this appears to be a rude comment, but did you ever consider simply looking in the Kawasaki Service Manual? You might be surprised at how much information it contains. Ed

Where in the factory service manual does it state the ball goes in on the clutch side?
I've seen some members say, the ball goes in before the pushrod. Also , it can fall out when the pushrod is removed. I've used the search function, but found conflicting information.

I bought an extra push rod and ground off the thickness of the ball on one end. Then I put a ball on each end. Seemed to make clutch use slightly easier. YMMV.

Right now, I'm installing a needle bearing pusher and a new ball bearing. Hopefully, it will make the clutch easier.
