Do any of you know wether or not a 1982 KZ550 cylinder head will fit on a 1982 GPz550 motor? Thanks!

I suspect the head will fit but there will be differences. The KZ has a mechanical tach drive and the GPz uses electronic for example. Hopefully someone more familiar with detail out other differences.

Like Ed said, the head will almost certainly bolt on, but the intake ports will be different if you are talking about a Kz550 A or C model. Those use Tk22 carbs.
The 82 gpz (H model) uses larger ports for the larger Tk26 carbs.
The 83 kz550A uses the larger ports, as do the shaft drive models (M and F). So if by chance the kz550 head is from an 83 A model made in 1982, it will have the same ports as the H gpz.

Won't the cams also be different?

Thanks for the answers. I find it odd that Kawasaki made all these little changes within 3 years but I guess they were just trying to make them better.

If the GPZ750 is anything like the GPZ550 watch out for higher piston domes on the hotter GPZ than the KZ. The GPZ750 head had different combustion chambers to accommodate the higher domed pistons, I don't know if this is true for the 550 motors because I have never owned one. You can use Bondo or Plasticine to make sure you have a minimum of 1mm clearance between the combustion chamber and the piston dome (with head gasket in place)
