Looks like zinc or lead discs to work like a sacrificial anode or to leaded the gasoline (Octan Booster)?

Some guys like to add objects to a rusty tank to knock rust off by shaking tanks while filled with vinegar or other acid. I've used washers but that looks like it would do a good job except for the tank's corners. Being heavy would be a big plus over just using washers.

Depends on why your using it. Our bikes were designed to run lead free fuel, so from that perspective its not needed. If you want to stop fuel going stale, yes it does.

That was my initial thought but they felt a little light to be lead pellets inside so I was unsure. I haven't heard of anyone using them before and wonder if they really work. Looks like I will have to a bit of web searching to do and see what I can find out.

I have done a bit of reading on these and have found no evidence that they actually do anything but sit in the tank and take up space, from what I can see they are no more than a tank decoration and are as useful as a handbrake on a kayak.

i have seen one of those things years ago but could not remember its use ,i also seem to think you could buy two magnets to put around fuel hose to make all the fuel molecules in order to make the motor run better that was in the uk in the 90s ,i dont think many people went for it ,david
