Hello!
Long time lurker, first time poster here.

So I decided to replace my head gasket a couple of days ago because there was a bit of oil leakage, and accidentaly snapped 2 of the studs.
I've been searching online for new studs but I cant find anything for this modell? are the studs from the kz550 interchangeable? Or is there a website ive missed?

thanks

The Z500 won't be listed at most places as that model line wasn't sold in the USA & most diagrams are for the USA/CAN models. cmsnl.com is the only site I know of that has some non-USA models, but I didn't see a Z500. cmsnl has some supersession info which can be handy.

Probably the closest match to a 500 is the KZ550 & the studs are probably the same. You could measure yours to verify what you have.

I looked at the cross feference software page at Zedder.com, and no mention of a KZ500 or Z500.
I did see a few 500cc models-
H1 triple two stroke
EN Vulcan twin
EX Ninja twin
KX motocross two stroke thumper

I wonder which market it was sold in?

Yeah I measured them today and they're a bit long ~165, 150, and 130mm so I think it's a no go

The Z500 was probably sold in Japan/Asia, Australia, Europe & a few other places. I haven't found much info on the 500.
motorcyclespecs.co.za has one Z500 listed. In addition to the 550, the Z400 4-cylinder is similar.
Japan Webike lists an exhaust system that supposed to fit the Z400/500/550 models (400FX & 400J, not the Twins).

Zedder probably only covers the North American models.

At any rate, I am really surprised that a cylinder stud broke while tightening the nut. I wonder what happened?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationBy tromos: The VIN number says KZ500AE but can't find anything about that one either.

Is that the VIN or engine number? I would get the Kawasaki factory service manual that covers the 400/500/550 models (400 4-cyl, not the Twins).

... EB search = KZ550 manual. others are listed. this one shows the model application chart on the back cover.

Z500 was for European market and as far as I know there is no online parts list for it. However some paper versions of parts lists could be found in Europe. Like this one:

www.ricardo.ch/de/a/kawasaki-z-500-ersat....katalog-1067396840/

According to sample images from that book Z500 has cylinder studs identical to Z550.

His over all messurments of the studs are +20 mm longer (OEM110/130/145 mm) against his messurments 130/150/165 of the studs.

We know nothing about studs that actually installed in that engine, however Kawasaki Z500 part list says that 500 studs are similar to 550. And I honestly I see no reasons for using longer studs in engine with capacity decreased for only 50ccm. I may only suggest to remeasure studs.
