Ok, bought a bike with an extra engine. 1075cc with Andrews 2X cams. I trusted the guy. He said it had a bent valve. Spun nice with no plugs in it. Valve cover was slobbered with high temp RTV! So I pop the cover off tonight and I see this mess! WTF? I'm glad he bent a valve. Because if he kept running it it would have had no oil up top.
Is this the worst you have ever seen? Some people should keep their hands off! And pay "The Man"
Nice clean set of Andrews 2X cams! $$$

So Then I scrape the paint off the engine on the bike that Paul Gast FBG built years ago, turns out to be a 75 Z1B lower end case. I hate to tear that one apart. I might find someone who is restoring a Z1B and needs this engine # Z1E for a correct resto.
Then again? This almost looks like a re-stamp?

It's probably the messiest i have seen, but i have had to help Warren 3200gt clear the oil ways in the head of one of his a few years back due to silicon sealant blocking oil flow, professionally rebuilt motor, it took a couple of hours and careful use of zip ties to persuade the stuff to come out, we got there in the end.

Nice hit on the cams!

That is the sloppiest we've seen.

RTV-ing while drunk should be illegal...

Here are the numbers on one of my bikes for comparison. The "5's" don't look quite right on your bike...too wide. What I also see is that the lip on the right side of the S/N block is missing. But if someone restamped it they did a good imitation of the real thing.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

You know what they say, the bigger the blob, the better the job! My EX-wife couldn't pick up a tube of glue without gluing her hand to her forehead. lol

Seriously, the PO's inability to fix things is what kills these old bikes and eventually puts them on the market for US to take home. It looks like you made some awesome barn finds.
