I recently acquired a 1979 kz 750 twin B. While attempting to start it, I have found that the starter disengages. After removing the stator cover, I have found that the center crank bolt is backing off by itself. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a fix? I have used an impact gun and a torque wrench and torqued it to the proper 110 pounds, and it still continues to back out. I'm blown away by the tenacity of this bolt.

Thank you

John

I was having the same problem and did this in 2008. Have not had a problem with the bolt backing out since and yes it is ridden regularly. Jim

Perfect! I was hoping I was not losing my mind. I feared that there might have been a crack in the crank or a thread stripping that I couldn't see. I was hoping that loctite would do the trick. I'll give it a try tomorrow!!! Thank you!
