Where to find step-by-step Z1/KZ1K motor sequential reassembly checklist? was created by slmjim+Z1BEBE
Years ago we happened across a post on KZRider containing a detailed, sequential description or step-by-step instruction checklist of reassembling an air-cooled Z1/KZ1K motor from scratch, in the correct order, to keep from leaving something out that would necessitate some disassembly upon discovery to correct. Instead of attempting to communicate the assembly process verbally to a budding vintage Z-bike enthusiast, such a sequential list in print would be a huge time saver for us and others.
We've spent the last three hours searching KZRider for that post with no luck.
We found this video, which may be of help to some but, it's not what we're looking for:
kzrider.com/forum/2-engine/592536-how-to...wasaki-engine#620057
Does anyone have a link to that post? Many thanks in advance.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I thought about making one for my own rebuilds, with photos but haven't done so yet. I try to read the repair manual, both the assembly/disassembly section and the maintenance section before each step. I also have a series of magazine articles by Dave Marsden on how to rebuild a Z1 engine. It documents pretty much every step but the photos are poor.

Perfect!
And humbling.
We don't think it's the one (vaguely) remembered but, likely much better, with more detail and, especially, the voice of experience as added bonus. We learned stuff reading it.
Thanks Dave!
