Engine Swap KZ440 was created by LawrenceB210
I need some help with deciding on a replacement engine for my KZ440. I'm currently building it and have a hardtail planned and already have it ready just need to weld. I went to rebuild the engine and I can't find any rebuild kits anywhere. Somebody please help with what engine can fit in the frame.
Thank you!

You have to source the parts independently, there are no 'kits' .

Regardless I haven't been able to source individual parts. I tried looking for both. Recommendations for where I can source these parts?

That depends in part on what you need and the exact year and model of the bike. Some parts like rings and carb holders are listed as still available from Kawasaki. That means you can order them from your local dealer or from online sellers like Z1Enterprizes (an adverizer on this site) and Partzilla. For the rest there are specialty companies like Vesrah, Goodrich and the like that may be able to supply certain parts. NOS and lightly used parts can also be found on eBay and occasionally on Craig's List.
Several members here have rebuilt 400/440 engines and can likely provide sources for specific parts.

There are also European sources that often have parts not available in the U.S.

There's a current KZ 440 Ltd Cafe project with engine top end rebuild, so he might have some info.

I bought all the parts for my top end rebuild from Ebay and different dealers. Look up the parts that you need and use the search using part nubers. For me hardest thing was to find a dealers that ships to Finland.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration
The KZ440 is incredibly common and parts are everywhere, especially on ebay. You don't even need part numbers for some things - just search, e.g. "KZ440 piston ring" and be sure to search the descriptions as well. You'll find stuff like this:
KAWASAKI Z440 KZ440 LTD 2 cyl PISTON KITS (2) +0.5mm
These are oversize pistons so you can have the cylinders bored to fit.
