Fake NGK Iridiums on Ebay

Bought a set of these plugs for a 2012 Mustang I picked up from Auto parts connection out of Calif (off Ebay)........ heard there have been fake ones reported on here but they have sold hundreds and only around 30 out of 5,000 left neg for thinking they are no good.

Took a chance and after waiting to long to send them back started worrying. Looked on line and tryed to spot the things to look for and couldn't really see it so wrote NGK themselves for what to look for. The boxes and plugs are exc fakes they are getting crazy good at it.

They told me to send them in and they would check em out............... 2 months later I get a e mail from em saying they are fake and that they don't disclose why they think they are only if they are or not (keeping it secret to catch the bad guys)........ they also said they will order a set for me from one of there autherized dealers and have them sent to me. (One time offer only and to only buy from a legit autherized dealer from now on (only ones are shown on there website).

Been 90 days now so I can't change my positive at Ebay but it wouldn't help anyway. Did write a follow up saying these are fake but its way back on page 34 now so it won't do any good now......................Blank in crooks APConnection and Ebay both...... but I'll tell you NGK really stood up for me and I won't forget it. Imagine all the cars being damaged running these.......something should be done.

There's a page on the NGK site showing the signs of a fake plug.
The main indicators are -
No 4 digit id number on the spanner hex.
Loose fitting sealing washer and a couple of others that slip my mind.

Did you get them because of the low price or was this just kind of random that you got stuck with fake plugs?

I just bought a set from Partzilla for my Z1B. Will check them over carefully for signs they are fakes.

I did look em over using that chart plus a few others off the web ........ like i said they looked good on all those points and went more on a gut felling other than seeing something that made them look fake to me ........... Got em for around 5.70 a plug vs the 8 to 10 you'd pay most others so I thought they were priced about right for a legit bargain.

Just cause the sellers are not autherized dealers (other then the dozen or so that's on NGK's list ....... most can be trusted like Partzilla, Z1 Rock auto, etc I would think but then they are buying from a 2nd hand wholesaler and not directly from NGK.
