alright so here is the story might be a bit long. Im 21 bought a bike last year something that runs but something I can fix up and learn to ride on ya know. So i picked out a bike running, with the story of its a carb issue, well we all know that story but I did hear the bike run, so i loaded up and brought it home tore the carbs apart and they look frshly rebuilt I then proceded to check spark on both cylinders, right plug was carbon foulded so I replaced it, fires run up runs amazing, take it for a ride only to see its topping out at 40mph and bogging after only a few miles, again check plug fouled, clean replaced, same deal, do some research and find out it could be a bad valve seal. I messed around with it a bit, had a vac line come of and woo, its running amzing, topped out at 55, much better i thought, so I get about two miles down the road and engine shuts off, it would start run like crap and die a guy ended up giving me a ride home and pulling my bike for me. I went home and started tinkering and it started clacking tore the valve cover off and the righ hand valve was sticking, yep, bent valve, after full teardown, its the only one, cracked valve guild bent valve.... now Heres where I need help.

Can someone provide me any info on where I can get these parts ebay seems to be full of junk, Im assuming Ill go with a diffrent head, new head gasket, lower jug gasket, and that should be all, pistons look fine just the valve issue, also need some help on how to set valve timing chain back up, the chain fell and im affraid it may have come of the crank drive altogether so ill need to reset timing....plus the engine got turned over, I pushed the bike and had it in gear opps, no damage but a small ding on the bottom of the piston no real damage im worried about. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long story, Im really more into working on cars than bikes so please excuse my stupidity, I should have replaced the valve seal and valve before it seized but we never learn unless we screw up

First get yourself a repair manual. A factory service manual [ which can be downloaded from several sites ]
or a Clymer's. Do you have a local cycle shop? Parts and a Clymers can be sourced there.

You can order parts through your local dealer, or you can order them online.

Factory parts - www.partzilla.com/catalog/kawasaki/motorcycle

Some factory, and some aftermarket parts - www.z1enterprises.com

Definitely get a service manual. The Kawasaki one is the most complete and specific, though a Clymer's can get you through most things. Check the Articles tab on this site to see if KZR has one to download. Be absolutely certain that you get one that covers the exact year and model you have, as there are sometimes important differences between models and between different years of the same model. On he back cover will be a list of the models and years covered in the manual.

As i will be moving in march im more looking towards the internet side of things, I have downloaded the kz440 manual off of this site as well as have a link to buy a repair manual. Im going to check out the links texas provided but as far as intake valves, part number 12004-1008 goes Im having a hard time finding much, I have my eyes on a full seal, piston, ring, set for 214$ plus shipping, Im wondering if just grabbing another 440 bike for 400-500$ would be worth it and just use mine for parts, I only paid 285$ for my bike and that included 3 years of non registation so the guy could get the title transfered.
