So I ended up biting the bullet and bought a set of Webcam 118's for my 81' KZ1000 J. They just got here and the lobes don't seem to be ground, is that normal? They are pretty smooth but have sort of a black oxide coating on them. The part of the cam that rides in the bushings is nice and shiny.

That gray coating helps protect the cams during break-in. It will wear off to some extent.

I am running 110's in a 1327 K-Z motor. Great cams. With Webcams you won't get the shaft. ;)
