1983 kawa 1100 LTD oil filter question was created by howfast54
I recently bought a project bike 83 1100 Ltd. Pulling the oil filter assembly out I failed to notice if the "cup" was on top or the bottom of the oil filter. I cannot find a diagram anywhere online and my Clymers maunual is on a wagon train it sems. The washer was missing. Has anyone used an electrical reducing washer, they are the right size and only 25 cents.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThe 81-83 1000/1100 chain drive Kawasaki service manual shows the cup on top of the filter,
as does the oil pump diagram at Partzilla for the 83 1100-L1 Ltd Shaft. I'm assuming your bike is the Ltd Shaft.

I would get the Kawasaki FSM. A number of them are available on eebbaayy & several at reasonable cost if not cheap. Kawasaki service manuals have a model application chart on the back cover, so make sure your motorcycle is on the list.
....EB search = KZ1100 Shaft manual.

Download this manual:

Here is the filter breakdown snip: ** any washer that fits properly should be fine. make sure it is not larger than the rubber grommet I think the 1/2" X 1" reducer washer may fit. Don't quote me on this, since I haven't tried it myself.**
