Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a Z650 B2 from '78 and i'd like to remove the rev counter cable.
I've seen this part on the web,
it's for Z1 and Z900 but i'd like to know if it fits on my bike too.
If it doesn't, does anyone know where i could find one.

Thanks for your answers

Take the stock component off the head, remove the gear and seal clean it up good with brake cleaner, put a piece of duct tape on the end that faces the head. Fill the open / seal end with JB weld epoxy, heat up the part with a hair dryer or heat gun to get air bubbles out wait 24 hours then remove the duct tape and reinstall.
Mine is still leak free and in great shape after 20 years.

If the cable is going to be obsolete just take the knurled piece off the cable and cut a disc that fits inside it, bit of sealent and screw it back on. Effectively sealing the tacho off for no cost without having to remove the drive.

Z1000J2 somewhat modified!
