When I was a kid I was told to oil paper gaskets before fitting them and so I did and all was well, but as I am currently assembling my Gpz750R1 I am struck by the fact that the FSM doesn’t say anything about fitting the cylinder base gasket wet or dry.
What is your take? Shall the cylinder base gasket go on dry or wet?

Dry, assuming you are using an OEM Kawasaki gasket. Oil in the valve cover gasket will aid removal later for valve adjustments but that's the only gasket I'd oil.

As said, I was always told to fit them wet so they should be easier to remove, but dry it is then.
