Consider the following - the 1982 KZ750-LTD is a 4 cylinder motorcycle. The 1976 KZ750 is a 2 cylinder motorcycle. The two models share very little. So when considering finding parts for a 4 cylinder KZ750 it would be wise to look at other 4 cylinder KZ750 bikes. Ed

Searching part numbers again reveals the same for every piece of the KZ750-E3 (2 cylinder) vs KZ750-H3 (4 cylinder) in the transmission. The KZ750B appears to be different however so I suppose I answered my own question. Thanks for the pictures.

In your original posting you asked "Will a gearset from an earlier KZ750, lets say a 1976 KZ750, fit into a 1982 KZ750 LTD?" The 1976 KZ750 is the KZ750-B1. Since that's the bike you mentioned that's the bike I referred to. If you look at the part numbers for the 1976 KZ750-B1 vs. the 1982 KZ750-LTD you should see that the part numbers are in fact different. Notice the different part numbers for gear, shafts, etc. between the first diagram below for the 1982 KZ750-LTD and the second diagram below for the 1976 KZ750-B1. They all look different to me. Ed
