1979 kz900?

bought a kz900 engine off ebay last saturday nite. made a nice lil hundred mile trip to pick it up. auction said it was a 79 which i paid no attention to. the engine # is z1e-127994. i think its a late 77 motor. does that sound right? was this an ok motor? motor is black w/ chrome valve and side covers...also got a set of 28mm keihins with an accel pump,some headers and some other stuff. has real good compression i think it might run. picked up two sets of what i think are gsxr mikuni's they have flat slides. picked it all up for 80 bux. maybe start a new project if all is well. also does anyone know if i can title it with the engine vin#? or do i need to look for a papered frame? cool thats a 900 bottem end,does the barrel have 903 or 1015 stamped on it?

903. looks really good too... lil dirty but the oil is clean. im sure it'll run. way better shape than my 1000 was in. looks like it was dropped on the floor maybe cause the points housing is broken a lil on the bottom corner. but no other damage. all there from carbs to header. i can only kick it over by hand but it feels like it has good compression. i will give it a once over in the daylite. i did pull the plugs and they are nice and tan. and the exhaust ports show no evidence of oil burning. so maybe its a winner:)

i think it is a late 76 or early 77 motor.

Not a set of'79 cases with that serial #. If it was the # would start KZT00A..
