And yet ANOTHER true statement. :woohoo:

My bike is fast enough. I have no problem getting court dates on my stock carbs. I can buy another bike for the cost of all of these carbs. Apparently the OP is frustrated and looking to blame the flat spots on his header, which for obvious reasons is not the problem.

Then after all of the expenses already involved, say he buys another header and still has problems.. he probably IS better off to go back to a set of re-jetted CV carbs.

From what I remember, when the 900's first came out the only aftermarket exhaust available around here were Hooker Headers and they were loud,
around 77 when I got my 650 Kerkers were available and I got one , it had a competition baffle that you could stick a Billy club down which was a no no back then.
It was" real" loud and only got me in real trouble.
I believe I stepped the mains up one size on stock carbs.
That's my Kerker history :)

iirc, the kerker that had the race insert and had to be removed for the oil change was called the k2. i had one on my '81 kz750.
you couldn't ride with the race insert unless you had a good set of earplugs.

I had burned out the Baffle in my first set of kerkers in the late 70s, I could change the oil with them on. and it was a 10 inch competition from the factory. the second baffle I cut the small tube from the center and re wrapped it and it was a short one too as I recall and was about 1 1/2"ID. I had to replace the pipes after falling off a tippy top trailer and poking a hole in the #4 down pipe early 90's. Now with my 78 1000 ltd It came with an old school curvy kerker and Im trying to revive them a bit but has a dent on the end of the mega phone. it will be a trial but I have a spare 2" comp baffle just incase it don't make getting knocked out. Maybe Ill end up with a delkevic next. Ill leave all the noise to the kids.
