Been working on this bike for a couple months.

Got it cheap, motor didnt match neck numbers.

Bike sat outside semi covered for a couple years.

Got it to fire once and it reved pretty high.
(Vacuum and slides im guessing)

Kill switch didnt work so I yanked the wire which in turn probly fried the ic ignitor.

Took it to a buddies shop w a new to me used dyna 2000 w coils and timing magnet and pickups.

He got it wired and fired (i think) and says we got low compression on all 4. (31-38psi)

Im headed over there tommarrow w bore scope.

Read allot on here and lools like it could be timing chain skipped, valves or stuck rings.

Hopping to put a couple drops of blaster and or marvel in holes to free up rings.

He is pulling cam cover now.

Any afvice for folks who have been down this road?

If the timing chain has slipped you should check your valves as you may have bent some. It happened to me last summer on a rebuild I was working on.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Does the compression tester you used have a valve in the end of the hose? If not it will skew the results a little. It's not going to bring you up from 30 to 120 or anything, but like 10-15 psi off I would guess.

Was the throttle wide open during the test?

The engine won't run at 33psi.

I agree with Nessism, something is wrong with the measuring if they're all at 33psi but you managed to start it.

100psi would be considered very low and you'll have trouble running. 33psi is near nothing. Check that your compression tester reads correctly (maybe try a different, working vehicle).

When you have the cam cover off, set the engine to top dead centre and check that the cam sprockets match up with what's in the manual, and while you're there check that the tensioner is working correctly, and that the valves all have clearance.
