Identify cams was created by ron768
I took apart a motor last night and found a set of high performance cams in it. They are marked Made in USA, WCW on the camshaft. I measured the lobes and at the high spot they are 38.5 mm. I measured a stock can and it measured out at 35mm. Does anyone have a clue as to who made these cams and what they may be good for. Thank you for reading. ron768

CWC , USA etc just indicates who made the casting blank and not the company who ground them.
CWC is found on almost all US aftermarket cams no matter who ground them as they are/were the go to supplier for blanks.
Also the 38.5 is just the overall height and not the lift so on it's own really means nothing.
You need to acertain the true lift by either subtracting the base circle measurement for the full height or taking a direct reading using a dial gauge on the lobe.
This will give you a rough idea of the cam spec and it's possible use and performance but not it's timing or duration figures.
To find the maker and further information there must be some other markings on the cam
The usual places to look are on the end of the cam, the sprocket flange or close to the sprocket flange.
These markings will not be cast but either stamped or engraved numbers and letters.
An example would be CM Z10. which would mean the grinder was Cam Motion and the profile is Z10 and then the Z10 profile can the looked up on their site to fine the correct timing and duration figures.
