I have a 1976 KZ750B twin

I can’t get it to start to save my life.

1. Electric start. Doesn’t work. I tried everything and yes I held the clutch in and then I didn’t the electric start button doesn’t even seem like it wants to go in.

2. Kick start. It just puffs. Like it sounds like it wants to turn over and then it doesn’t.

I’ve checked the fuel lines
I’ve checked the spark plugs
My battery is good

I’m new to the motorcycle world as this is my first bike and I wanted a project but not this much of a pain

Can y’all help me i just need to know what to look for and check. I’d love to get this bike running again

For the electric start I would make sure power is getting to the starter relay from the starter button, there are alot of connections in that circuit and they can corrrode easily. What state are the carbs in, have you cleaned them? Have you checked to see if you're getting spark?
