PJ1 ENGINE PAINT
12 Apr 2018 09:26 - 12 Apr 2018 09:28
Have some news about PJ1 high temp paint. Used it for years. I purchased the old style can on the right last Sept. 2017. It sat in my cellar, I picked it up every once in a while flipped it upside down. Just to keep it moving around. Never touched the nozzle to spray it. Finally went to use it on a cylinder block and head. It spit and sputtered and went dead! Of course I cleaned nozzle! Nothing. I was pissed! So I contact a CSR rep in Arizona. He told me they were having problems with paint cans. (Gee! They switched suppliers!) Now they have changed that again!
But, get to the point! He said they stick behind their product 110%. He asked me to take a pic of bottom of can for the lot # and other stuff. Asked me my address, said he would send me a can! Cool! Then when UPS drops off box, I find 2 cans! now that was great customer service Thanks PJ1.
So if anyone is going to buy PJ1 make sure it is the new look cans! CSR said better formula. This paint is gloss. I like the gloss black!

Hope they don't stop making the satin black. We wouldn't want to spray gloss black on cases for a '73 Z1 resto.
As for curing, we always paint cases many months before startup. Final curing is to ride it at least 50 miles.
