kz550 kickstart

this may have been discussed before but i haven’t found it, or searched very hard for that matter..

is there a way to remove the starter mechanism and replace it with a kickstart?

i’ve noticed that used kickstart pedals for the kz550 are available for sale.
did canadian models have a kickstart option?

The short answer is no.

550's never had a kick or a kick option. That lever for sale is not for a 550.

Also, I am pretty sure the lever for a 650 is different from a 1000 lever. I wouldn't trust that seller.

From the listing the pedal is from a KZ650, but since he doesn't know what else it might fit, he says it may fit those other models listed. Rather understandable for an old motorcycle part.

If he knows it is from a kz650, it is pretty easy to go to a website like Partzilla or to use the factory parts list to find out what other models it fits.
