Gpz 550 - 1984 full restoration

Hi, my first message here.. nice to be part of this group.

I have a Gpz 1984 ( this is my second bike) and while same has not been used the last 5 years and being in bad condition, in view that my financial condition has been improved i decided to restore the bike in full..

This means, full painting, full service and also engine rebuild.

While serching for new pistons, i came across the wiseco 615 kit..
The exhaust is 4-1 custom made from a reputable firm in my country.
Carbs are not working properly and had some leaks. Thus, i was thinking for new carbs and in case i use the 615 kit, then go for bigger carbs.

Prior deciding whether to replace the pistons with OEM or wiseco 615, i would appreciate your views if this worth it..

the cam chain / cam tensioner should be replaced as i experiences some cam chain issues. in the past. The bike has abt 45000 km and she could made 220 km quite easy withou any mod on the carbs or air filter.. all stock apart from the exhaust..
