Starter / starter clutch chain installation

I have a 1982 KZ750 Twin CSR and i decided to remove the starter and rebuild it since it was not working when i pirchased the bike. I reinstalled the starter and now I an having a hard time getting the starter clutch chain back on. I have the FSM but it only goes into installing the starter and stops at putting in the sprocket. I have searched on the forum and I can not find anything on starter installation concerning the starter clutch chain. This is my first motorcycle rebuild so I am still learning. Thanks for any help.
