oil pressure switch

HI - I have a simple question re my 82 KZ1100 please - can the oil pressure switch be connected to a pressure guage (digital) so the actual pressure is always displayed? If so - is it a direct connection or does is have to be wired via something else on the loom?

The pressure switch on these engines is mechanical and is basically an on/off, pressure/no pressure indicator.
You need a mechanical gauge with a M14 x 1.5mm adaptor to screw in to the main oil gallery.
There is a threaded bung top left of the ignition housing which is for this purpose.

OK tks. Is the M14 x 1.5 the same as 1/8 NPT - because thats what the manual says that testing point thread is?

1/8 NPT is the usual thread on the back of an oil gauge but is nowhere near the M14 ( 14mm ) of the pressure port.
The Kawasaki uses only Metric threads so you would need a 1/8 npt to M14 adaptor.
The official Kawasaki oil pressure gauge screws in to the port next to the ign housing.
The pic shows the location of the port with an aftermarket gauge attached.
