Exhaust change
10 Dec 2017 09:46
I know this is going to be an expensive question and a $100 answer. Ive had my bike going on 42 years now and have had A kerker 4-1 on all the bikes Ive had besides. Currently I have a 78 1000 ltd in for paint Diamond sky blue and pinstriped correctly for a 77a4 on z1 tank, non decal and half buffed out engine covers but will be finished by spring. So I'm thinking Delkavic headers for aesthetic appearance but I'm unsure of the muffler as for sound, cone header or straight or cone industries (probable) Ive been an equipment operator all my life and not much interested in noise, Has anyone any experience with the delkavic straight pipe on big 4's??

Hey - my own solution for many "can't find an exhaust system that I like or fits this model of old bike" - mating anyone's header (stock, Mac, Kerker, Delkevic, etc.) to either a Suppertrapp Stainless adjustable disc (quiet or loud - "tuneable" for noise) or Hindle Aluminum / Stainless / Titanium (only loud) silencer, and fabricating suitable collector, mounts, etc....
Generic Supertrapp mufflers / silencers are available in a few shapes and sizes (Supertrapp is now owned by Kerker).
Hindle is from eastern Canada.,...
